Automatic Daily Updating
(1/1)
hmkelsey:
I am currently running the PSAs for Black History Month and a daily rss newsfeed. Is there any way that I can set these files up to automatically air on their respective days? PLEASE HELP!!
Jay Lichtenauer:
As for getting audio to play on specific days, use the date command in Scheduler Advanced.
http://macinmind.com/Help/Radiologik/Scheduler/index.htm#Date_matching
It works like a pick but does searches inside the playlist to match date formats:
YYYY-MM-DD, YYMMDD, January 1, and Jan 1
That pattern can be anywhere in the title/name of the track
Use a fallback playlist if you need something picked and no date matches are found.
Or use a f=failover script line and use a variation of the date command such as date+1 or month to find tomorrow or just match the month. You can have a series of date commands it tries until one succeeds.
Lane:
The daily RSS feed should be easy enough. Just make a smart playlist that is set with info to list the podcast, and set a limit of 1 to the most recently added.
I'm not sure how often itunes checks the rss, if it's not fast enough, perhaps there is an applescript option to force it to check them.
