    Hello,

    Pardon the beginner´s question.

What is the strategy to secure that the actual shows-programs begin at the TOTH once it is schedued?

    Thanks

    Hugh

    Hi Hugh,

Can you maybe ask that again another way? I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean.

    Sure,

Once the scheduler is setup and runs 20 minutes before the hour (you revealed this to me in a previous post) I wonder how to make the "____show¨playlist start on the hour; for example, the rock show should start at 9pm (let´s suppose it is pre-recorded).
Because the scheduler uses fixed 30 minutes time blocks, and the automated programming kicks in 20 minutes before the hour, I haven´t figured out how to be sure that the "shows" start on the hour (eg. 9pm), or the half hour (11.30pm).
Sorry if there is an obvious answer to this, but I am confused about the scheduler´s logic. I would´v thought each playlist -show- should start on the exact hour.

    Thank you for your reply.

    Hugh

i generally start my shows exactly on the hour. You can achieve that a few different ways, and can be extremely exact if necessary.

I suppose this is the best stuff to read on this: http://macinmind.com/Help/Radiologik/Scheduler/index.htm#Minimum_Maximum

I don't want to repeat too much what the manual says, as I don't think I can say it better. But functions you should pay attention to here have to do with the minimum and maximum time. If you do a fill, and have the minimum and maximum times exactly the same, the scheduler will do it's best to fit a song in the available space that ends at exactly that time. You could have them both be 60:00 for example, and the song would end exactly then. You can do that with 30:00 if you need. You can also use a fill right at the beginning that has a TOTH in it so if the previous hour of music is running short, it will pick a song to fit that will end exactly at the top of the hour.

Experiment a bit with that stuff, and see if you can wrap your head around it. Then come back and ask specific questions if you need. I'll be here to answer, and others might chime in too.

    Good luck!

Scheduling is 20 minutes before the segment start. If you have nothing running at the time of scheduling and you don't want it to start right after it gets done scheduling, use an interrupt time of 00:00 which will be the segment start time. Otherwise, it's up to how you scheduled the previous hour as to how close you get to the next segment and then scheduler can accommodate using time instructions, min and max.
